Syracuse Orange head coach Dino Babers has a pretty core of a coaching staff in place already. One thing he was still in need of? A running backs coach. Apparently he's picked up a pretty good one as reports say Virginia Cavaliers running backs coach/assistant head coach Chris Beatty is jumping over to the Orange.
Even though he hasn't updated his profile yet, you have to assume reports are accurate since Beatty is retweeting them himself.
According to SI's Thayer Evans, "his hiring would be a recruiting coup" as Beatty has a fantastic reputation for recruiting the Washington, D.C, Virginia and Florida areas.
Born in Kansas, Beatty played for East Tennessee State and the CFL before starting a coaching career that took him from Hampton to Northern Illinois to West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Wisconsin and finally Virginia. Just looking over the list of big-time recruits he's gotten in the past as well as the quality of class he attracted to Virginia, he's clearly got things cookin' on the crootin' side.
