Syracuse Men's Soccer: Regular Season Ends, Postseason Begins

The Syracuse Orange Men's Soccer team finished off their 2015 regular season on the road at Boston College. Unfortunately this didn't come good for the boys, however they will host NC State at home tonight in the ACC Tournament opener.

And now, a break from your regularly scheduled Syracuse Orange football and basketball programming.

Last Friday, the men's soccer team finished up their regular season on the road against the Boston College Eagles. It was a tough position to be in, on the road, playing a game that could solidify the postseason resume or end up hurting their bid to the NCAA tournament. BC is a solid squad and has been in and around the rankings all year, currently sitting at #16 in the RPI.

The Orange dug themselves a hole in what was not a good half of soccer for them. Down 2-0 at the break, the team was in a rough spot. They came out at the half and pushed the tempo, getting one back in the 85th minute, but ultimately pulling up short of the comeback. Kamal Miller headed in his second goal on the year for the only Orange tally, final score Boston College 2 - 1 Syracuse.

The Orange finished the regular season at 10-5-2 with a 3-4-1 ACC record. They also head to the postseason ranked as follows in the polls:

ACC Tournament

The Orange start the postseason this Wednesday, 7pm up at Syracuse Soccer Stadium. You'll probably remember their foe, the North Carolina State University Wolfpack. They may or may not have just beaten them within the last two weeks at home on this very same field.

The Wolfpack come in as the #10 Seed in the ACC Tournament, with the Orange the #7. The winner will move on to a road game against the #2 Seed North Carolina Tarheels. If you head up to the game, remember this is a ticketed match as it is the postseason. Tickets are $8 per person and purchased on site.
