The 2015 Syracuse Orange football season comes to an end today. We send off a collection of seniors. Scott Shafer roams the sidelines one last time. And the Orange try to put a positive end to a tumultuous year when they host the Boston College Eagles.
Both teams hoped to be playing for bowl games at this point but that's not gonna happen. Instead, the winner gets the satisfaction of not sharing the basement with Wake Forest.
The Scott Shafer - Steve Addazio Corollary concludes and we'll continue to wonder what could have been.
Just because the records are bad, that doesn't mean there isn't something on the line for SU today.
Of course, the Orange are going to have to try to win without Eric Dungey, Brisly Estime and a slew other players.
It's the last time Scott Shafer and Terrel Hunt will take the field as members of the team and it's a damn shame it had to be like this.
Assuming the attendance falls below 30K, it'll cap the worst season in Carrier Dome history in terms of attendance.
Most of us think Syracuse will win and send Coach Shafe out a winner but no one's expecting an offensive explosion.
