First Meeting: Syracuse entered the 1977 NCAA Tournament with a 25-3 record and high hopes of a Final Four. Those hopes were dashed in the Sweet 16 when SU played it's worst game of the season and lost 81-59 to Charlotte. The Niners went on to the Final Four instead.
Last Meeting: Demetris Nichols led the way and Syracuse topped Charlotte 79-67 in the Carrier Dome on November 22, 2006.
Head Coach: You remember Mark Price as the longtime NBA guard who made his mark with the Cleveland Cavaliers amongst other teams. He then turned to coaching and spent a decade as an NBA assistant before taking over the Charlotte program this past offseason.
Last Year: The squad finished 14-18 (7-11) in coach Alan Major's final year with the team.
Last Game: Charlotte defeated Furman, 77-68, for Coach Mark Price’s first win at home with the program. It was also the school's 800th all-time victory. Curran Scott recorded his first career 20-point scoring game with 21 points while going 11-for-11 from the free throw line.
"Fear Me, I've Killed Hundreds of Timelords": Tough to say. The 49ers had three different players lead the team in scoring in each of the first three games. Ridell Camidge scored 18 points against Elon, Andrien White scored 21 points against East Carolina and Curran Scott scored 21 points against Furman.
If Syracuse Wins: All ESPN Network games from here on out!
If Syracuse Loses: You better learn where AXS is on your cable package.
Fun Fact: SU and Charlotte already have a common opponent in Elon. We both beat the Phoenix by 11. Hmmm...
