After an exhilarating weekend for Syracuse Orange, we decided to do a special edition of the Athlete of the Week voting. Congratulations to last week's AOTW winner, Ben Polk.
First, let's give some recognition to other Syracuse athletes: Ice Hockey's Melissa Piacentini became the all-time leading scorer in SU history, Silvi Uattara led the Orange volleyball squad to a big road win at Pitt, Alexis Peterson led the Orange to a near-upset of Tennessee, Julian Buescher paced the Men's Soccer team with two assists in the win over Dartmouth advancing the Orange to the 3rd round, and the women's XC squad of Margo Malone, Shaylyn Tuite, Sydney Leiher, Cassia Hameline, Rebecca Skodis, Stephanie Bitcon, and Mary Malone earned the 2nd-highest place in program history with their 12th place NCAA finish this weekend.
