Vegas set its Week 13 betting lines Sunday night, and it has the Syracuse Orange (3-8) opening the week as a 3.5-point underdog ahead of their matchup with the Boston College Eagles (3-8) on Saturday at the Carrier Dome.
A year ago at this time, Syracuse found itself in the exact same position, as the Orange were 3-8 heading into their season finale against the Eagles. SU lost that game, 28-7, as Boston College improved to 7-5.
So far this season, though, the Eagles have been almost as bad as Syracuse. They too are sitting at 3-8, with their most recent victory coming in September. But the Eagles do have the country's best defense in terms of yards allowed per game, and that will certainly test Syracuse. It's also probably the reason Boston College enters the game as the favorite.
The game will get underway at 12:30 p.m and it will be televised on RSN. Even if there aren't serious football implications on the line, there will be #OrangeEagle points to hand out. Of course, after the Orange delivered national championships in field hockey and men's cross country over the weekend, Syracuse does now have a comfortable lead in the competition.
Oh, and remember, if Syracuse loses to fall to 3-9, feel free to blame this on Brian.
