(PSA: @kidmamba23 is Tyus Battle's twitter handle.)
Battle will play his senior season at St. Joseph's high school after transferring from Gill St. Bernard's over the summer. Battle, who originally committed to Michigan, pledged the Orange over the summer. Battle is ready for a big senior season, but has recently seen his ratings drop over recruiting services. Many believe the reason for the rankings drop was due to the foot injury that Battle suffered in his junior year of high school.
SLAM Magazine recently sat down with Tyus and asked him his thoughts on his rankings drop:
"I'm not worried about rankings, but I definitely have a chip on my shoulder after not playing last year," says Battle. "I want to go out there and perform well and prove to everybody that I belong out there with the best. I'll let my game back it up."
Battle is a 6-foot 6 combo guard that is a perfect fit at the top of the 2-3 zone. He has the ability to shoot it from deep and also get in the lane and score, and could become an elite passer. Battle chose the Orange over the likes of Duke, Michigan, Louisville, and UConn.
