If there was any doubt as to how the Syracuse Orange Field Hockey team would respond to last week's loss to North Carolina in the ACC Championship, that should be erased after this weekend's results. Syracuse defeated UMass 4-2 on Saturday, and then dominated the Princeton Tigers 5-0 on Sunday to earn the program's 4th trip to the Final Four, and 3rd in the last 4 years.
Liz Sack led the way for the Orange, scoring two goals in each game this weekend, giving her more goals this weekend than she had during the regular season. Emma Russell added 3 goals on the weekend, and the team's leader scorer Alma Fenne notched two goals against the Tigers.
Syracuse will get a rematch of last year's NCAA title game when they face UConn on Friday afternoon in Ann Arbor. The Orange will be looking to be the 1st women's program in Syracuse history to win a NCAA Championship.
