It became obvious with the indefinite suspension of Qaadir Sheppard and Amir Ealey why the Syracuse Orange began offering scholarships to new defensive end targets all of a sudden. Two new offers went out this past week, first Jacoby Hill on Tuesday and then Josh Allen on Thursday.

Jacoby Hill is 6'3". 220 pounds and plays for Carver High School in Atlanta. Heis rated three stars by 24/7 & ESPN and two stars by Scout. He has offers from Cal, Purdue and Memphis among others and is a soft verbal commit to Tulane. Hill is also friends with current 2016 commit Monquavion Brinson, which may give the Orange an edge in landing him. Since being offered on Tuesday, Hill has scheduled an official visit. Let's take a look at Hill's highlights at Carver:

Josh Allen is a 6'4" 260 pound four star junior college defensive end at Long Beach Community College in Long Beach, California. Allen has offers from Alabama, Louisville, and Arizona State among others. Allen previously committed to Arizona in July, but recently re-opened his recruitment. Here's a look at Allen's highlights:

Syracuse has one defensive end, Jamal Holloway, already verbally committed in the 2016 class. The fact that the Orange are looking for more defensive ends this late in the recruiting cycle may be an indication that the coaching staff does not expect Sheppard and Ealey to be with the team in 2016.
