We're in the middle of Syracuse Orange football season and we haven't even gotten into basketball season yet but for those among you desperate for a little lacrosse action, this weekend should give you your fix.
The current Syracuse men's lax squad will take on the SU Alumni All-Stars on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The "Legends Game" will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the current SU roster will take on the recent alumni at 3:30 p.m.
The list of alumni on the roster reads like a who's who of recent SU greats. Tim Desko, Derek Maltz, Tommy Palasek, Kevin Rice and Randy Staats highlight the attack. Josh Amidon, Chris Daddio, Dan Hardy, Hakeem Lecky, Henry Schoonmaker and JoJo Marasco bolster the midfield. Tom Guadagnolo, Brian Megill and Ed Warszycki are back on defense. Alex Cavalieri, John Galloway and Bobby Wardwell will stand in goal. All-told, you're talking about 40 All-American honors among them.
Tickets for the doubleheader are $10 and can be purchased in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B), while Parking is free in the Stadium Lot. The event is a fundraiser with all proceeds going directly to the Syracuse men's lacrosse program.
Part of this annual tradition, now in it's sixth year, is what the alumni uniforms will look like. Games past have featured checkered designs and other unique looks. The current players may also get in on the fun by sporting the new Cascade helmets they were super, super, SUPER excited to get.
