Syracuse Men's Soccer: Orange Return Home on Four Game Win Streak

The newly minted #15 Syracuse Orange finished off another victory for their fourth in a row as they took out the Duke Blue Devils on the road. They will face off against the Albany Great Danes tonight at Syracuse Soccer Stadium.

The Syracuse Orange (7-2-1, 2-1-1) are back in the polls this week, riding a four game win streak. This weeks polls as follows:

The Orange have been making strides back towards the rankings after early losses to #16 Hofstra and #4 Wake Forest. The early setbacks were good tests for the young squad that they seem to have come back from to find their form.

Their last game, Friday night, was an away contest to the Duke Blue Devils (4-4-2 (0-3-1). Any road test in the ACC isn't easy, but Julian Buescher helped make the match look like child's play. The game was played in some insanely wet and windy field conditions thanks to the hurricane blowing in. Beuscher didn't seem deterred. He was able to net two in the match, his third and fourth on the year, off of service both times from Liam Callahan. His first came off a nicely worked triangle with him and Callahan, give and go into a one on one with the keeper in the 26th minute.

With minimal left in the half, they took a 2-0 lead off of an own goal. Service into the box was deflected in by a Duke player for the second. Duke converted a penalty in the 77th to bring the final scoreline to 3-1. Overall three league points are three league points and a road win in the ACC can't be looked over. It will be a good warmup moving into the meat of the schedule for the squad as they're getting their feet under them at this point.

They return to action tonight, 7pm up at SU Soccer Stadium in the Thruway Derby versus the University of Albany Great Danes.  As always it's free admission.
