Last week, Tim Lester went to Louisiana looking for a quarterback. The Syracuse OC/QB coach was in attendance Friday night as Zachary High School (LA) QB Lindsey Scott ran for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns, and went 14-19 for another 211 yards and two more scores. After watching the tape with the rest of the coaching staff, the Syracuse Orange decided to offer Scott a scholarship. He accepted immediately.
I'm excited to announce my offer and commitment to Syracuse University! All glory to God! pic.twitter.com/hGQuyWgq9g

Scott had twelve other scholarship offers from likes the Harvard, Army, and Navy but Syracuse was his first Power 5 conference offer. Scott joins Rex Culpepper, who is rehabilitating a torn ACL injury, as the second quarterback commit in the 2016 class. Scott is also the 15th commit of the cycle, counting 2015 holdover Brandon Ginnetti. The Orange are expected to take between seventeen and twenty recruits to get to the 85 scholarship limit.
