2015 Orange Madness Tickets On Sale Tuesday, Jim Boeheim Selfies Part of the Deal

SU students and season-ticket holders get in free but everyone else can buy their $5 tickets to the October 16 event on Tuesday.

It's kinda crazy to think that the Orange Madness tradition that now seems like it's a given to kick-off every Syracuse Orange basketball season is really only a few years old. We used to wonder aloud why SU didn't have some kind of ongoing Midnight Madness event. Now we wonder what they'll do this year to top the previous one.

We'll find out when the event takes place on Friday, October 16 in the Carrier Dome. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and they'll start hooping it up at 7:00 p.m. If you want to be there, tickets go on sale Tuesday.

Tickets will run you $5 and they can be purchased online at Cuse.com or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Admittance is free for all SU and ESF students (with ID) as well as season-ticket holders.

Last year, Jim Boeheim rode into the Dome on a humvee wearing an army helmet. We'll have to wait and see how he tops that (rappelling from the roof?). One thing we do know is that he'll stop to take a photo with you.

The big draw (IMO) is the Selfie Station. Fans will be able to take a picture with Jim Boeheim, Quentin Hillsman, and many of the men's and women's basketball players. I'm extremely curious to know how this plays out. I can't imagine Boeheim is going to sit there for four hours making sure everyone who wants a photo gets a photo, so we'll have to wait and see what the deal is. Still, if you can get a selfie with Boeheim and Trevor Cooney, you're kinda obligated to see it through.

Aside from the that there's usual events. Both teams will scrimmage, take part in a dunk contest and shoot it out in a three-point contest. There will be a DJ and "other entertainment" but the big-name (or quasi-big name) acts that have been announced in year's past aren't mentioned yet.
