Syracuse Basketball: KenPom's Syracuse 2015 Season Predictions

Syracuse have a lot to prove, but are still given a pretty decent outlook by the fancy stats of KenPom.

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

You know what basketball season almost being here means? PREDICTIONS!

Rounding out this data, KenPom has the Syracuse Orange's Pythagorean Rating (how all teams are ranked preseason/throughout the season based off of points scores/allowed/SOS) is .8318. That's good for 33rd in the country and 8th overall in the ACC. (For the record, KenPom has Duke No. 1 overall, Virginia No. 3, North Carolina No. 7, Notre Dame No. 16, Miami No. 21, Louisville No. 25, and Pittsburgh No. 30)

In some of the biggest games of the season (at least right now), this is how KenPom predicts Syracuse will fare:

vs Wisconsin: 51% chance, W 66-65
@ Georgetown: 33% chance, L 70-66
vs UNC: 49% chance, L 75-74
@ Duke: 15% chance, L 77-66
vs Pitt: 65% chance, W 69-65

All of this seams to make sense. The Orange are looking to replace Rakeem Christmas, who was nothing short of a work horse for the Orange. They'll be relying on a lot of youth all across the floor and face a pretty tough non conference slate before heading into ACC without Jim Boeheim for SOME period of time. (Perhaps)

What do you guys think? Too high? Too low? On the nose?
