Syracuse Football Recruiting: 2016 Commit Moe Neal Setting State Records

2016 verbal commit Moe Neal has been setting high school records in North Carolina this year.

Syracuse Orange commit Moe Neal is breaking all kinds of records in his home state of North Carolina. According to the Gaston Gazette, Neal broke the Gaston County record for career yards from scrimmage with almost 6,300 yards. This week, Neal broke the county record for career points scored with 566 points scored.

So far this year, Neal has amassed 1040 rushing yards on 162 carries in eight games, as well as 14 rushing touchdowns. Neal has also accrued 349 yards receiving on 18 receptions, and seven more touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. Neal also has 84 yards on kickoff returns and 46 yards on punt returns.

As the conversation about Coach Shafer's hot seat rages on, one consideration is always what will happen with the recruits who are currently verbally-committed to Syracuse. Moe Neal was recruited to play in Tim Lester's offense with Neal targeted to play the hybrid RB/WR position. If Syracuse isn't using Lester's offense in 2016, that certainly jeopardizes Neal's commitment.
