When the Syracuse Orange played on the road this past weekend, Vegas said they'd be an underdog and we all laughed.
Well, we're not laughing anymore.
And we're not laughing now that Vegas has installed the 1-4 Virginia Cavaliers as an 8.5-point favorite over the Orange headed into their game on Saturday.
So, #UVA opens as an 8.5-pt. home favorite against Syracuse, which is an interesting line for a lot of reasons. #Hoos

The Cavs are having a miserable season so far but a lot of that has to do with their schedule, which is John & I's worst nightmare. A road game at UCLA along with match ups with Notre Dame and Boise State, none of which went well. Plus they only barely beat William & Mary in there for their lone win. But they did give Notre Dame and Pitt solid efforts. Couple that with Vegas's lack of belief in Syracuse on the road (which is so far warranted) and here we are.
The line will surely come down over the course of the week but don't expect SU to become the favorite by Saturday.
