Before Friday's game with the Louisville Cardinals, the No. 1 Syracuse Orange field hockey team had been thoroughly-dominating time of possession and shots. After passing a tougher test in the Cardinals, the Orange got back to their usual routine on Sunday, topping the Indiana Hoosiers 3-1 with a one-sided performance.

Syracuse got it going early when Liz Sack hit a low shot into the corner of the goal, putting the Orange up 1-0. Alma Fenne then made it 2-0, a lead SU would take into halftime. Ten minutes into the second half, Indiana got back within one thanks to a penalty corner goal. However Erin Gillingham sealed the deal with 12 minutes left to play en route to the 3-1 final.

The Orange outshot the Hoosiers 24-6 and put 14 of those shots on goal. Goalie Jess Jecko made two saves on the day and faced only three shots on goal.

Syracuse returns home for their final home games of the season, an ACC showdown with No. 7 Wake Forest (10-3) on Saturday at 1 p.m. and then a Senior Day match-up with No. 20 Princeton (6-4) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Let's all celebrate with the SU Field Hockey Theme Song!
