The Syracuse Orange first started recruiting Kevin Mensah in the spring which culminated in a visit by Syracuse Defensive Coordinator Chuck Bullough in May of this year. Mensah would go on to camp at UMass, Ohio State, Syracuse, Boston College, Connecticut, Florida, and Temple over the summer. In July, Mensah listed his top six schools as Arizona State, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Massachusetts and Syracuse.
Since then, Syracuse, UMass and Boston College have been recruiting Mensah the hardest, Mensah said through direct messages on Twitter, but other top programs remain in contact as well. Mensah said also that he would like to stay somewhat close to home, but a school like Syracuse would not be too far way. According to Mensah, Syracuse is targeting him to play as a defensive back. Mensah says that he does not have a preference of playing on offense or defense, and just wants to help whatever school he commits to in any way he can.
Mensah has already taken unofficial visits to Boston College and Massachusetts, and hopes to set official visits after his season ends or early next year and hopes to make a final decision during his senior season. Here's a look at Mensah's highlight tape for the first four games of his junior season:
