We have no way of knowing whether or not Pittsburgh Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi was actually considering hiring defensive coordinator Chuck Bullough away from the Syracuse Orange, but regardless it looks like the entire thing is moot.
Narduzzi will reportedly hire FIU defensive coordinator Josh Conklin. Conklin is reportedly brining FIU LB coach Rob Hurley with him as well.
There had been rumors that Narduzzi might hire away not only Bullough but also Syracuse DL coach Tim Daoust. The two had coached together briefly at Cincinnati.
So while the offensive staff had one shakeup (so far), the defensive staff remains intact (so far). Bullough has said he is "not looking to go," and so far, that's true. If he's able to get a good 2015 season out the SU defense, though, we might not be able to hold on to him too much longer.
Scott Shafer is off to the AFCA convention this weekend, so keep an eye out for updates on the WR spot and any other coaching announcements during or afterward.
