Friday Conversation: Who's Your Syracuse Basketball Jersey Retirement Wild Card?

Do you think Eric Devendorf's jersey should be retired? Make your case. Also, you're probably related to Eric Devendorf.

On Thursday we heard the very good, very overdue news that Louie Orr and Roosevelt Bouie would have their jerseys raised to the Carrier Dome rafters. They'll join Rony Seikaly (#4), Vic Hanson (#8), Carmelo Anthony (#15), Wilmeth Sidat-Singh (#19), Sherman Douglas (#20), Dave Bing (#22), Billy Owens (#30), Pearl Washington (#31) and Derrick Coleman (#44).

Whenever this topic comes up, the question is always asked. Who else deserves the honor? I once tried to do an analysis of some other Syracuse folks who deserved to see their jersey go high. On my list was Lawrence Moten (which we thought was happening?), John Wallace, Gerry McNamara and Hakim Warrick. I made that list in 2007 and as far as I can tell I don't think I have anyone I would add to it who has played for the Syracuse Orange.

That said, I put a question to you. All of the names noted above are fairly obvious choices for jersey retirement. So what I want to know is, who is your "wild card" selection who deserves to have their jersey raised as well?

Perhaps you think Jonny Flynn's two great seasons (and effort in SixOvertimes.com) deserves consideration. Maybe you're willing to make an argument for Eric Devendorf. Or how about Preston Shumpert? Maybe Etan Thomas, Demetris Nichols, Adrian Autry or Kris Joseph need to be considered. And what about C.J. Fair and Brandon Triche, who have a Final Four to their names?

Make your case in the comments below.
