Last week, news broke that Houston Cougars quarterback John O'Korn was considering transferring. Given that O'Korn had thrown for over 3,000 yards a year earlier and had received an offer from Syracuse during his initial commitment, one wondered if the Syracuse Orange would want to get in on that.
Houston quarterback John O'Korn is considering five schools as transfer destinations including Syracuse, a source told Syracuse.com on Saturday. O'Korn has already spoken with SU offensive coordinator Tim Lester and is also looking at Florida, Texas, Wisconsin and Miami, the source said; he has spoken with coaches from each school except Miami. O'Korn will not be allowed to play in 2015 due to NCAA transfer rules and has three years to use his two remaining seasons of eligibility.
Working in Syracuse's favor, along with O'Korn's longstanding relationship with Tim Lester, is that two guys from his high school are en route to the school in 2015. O'Korn is originally from Pennsylvania, so there may an interest in returning to the Northeast as well.
No word on any decision timetable, so we'll just wait and see. Just be ready...
Update: Looks like you can cross Texas off the list...
Orangebloods has learned that John O'Korn, former #UofH QB reportedly considering Texas transfer, will not be targeted by #Longhorns staff.
