Rivalry: Syracuse leads 1-0

Current Streak: 1, Syracuse (duh)

First & Last Meeting: SU won the only previous series meeting by the score of 47-7 in 1999 at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse led 34-7 at halftime thanks to Troy Nunes, who passed for 170 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to Quinton Spotwood. I was probably at this game but I swear I can't remember it for the life of me.

Head Coaches: SU: Scott Shafer (2nd Year, 8-6), CMU: Dan Enos (5th Year, 21-30)

Last Year: The Chips got off to a rough start in 2013, going 1-4 by the end of September. They started to get it together in October and ended the year with three-straight wins to finish 6-6. They did not receive a bowl bid.

Last Game: The Chips put some good old-fashioned fear into the Orange as they spent SU's bye week decimating Big Ten's Purdue Boilermakers, 38-17. CMU has now beaten a Big Ten school four times since 2009.

Head Coach Bio: After working his way up the ranks to QB and RB coach at Michigan State, Dan Enos was hired to take over CMU in 2010. His first two seasons ended in 3-9 but he led the Chips to a 7-6 record and Little Caesars Bowl victory in 2012 as well as a 6-6 finish last season. He received an extension in 2013 that keeps him in town through 2016.

"Fear Me, I've Killed Hundreds of Timelords": RB Thomas Rawls heads the Chippewas’ ground attack. Rawls is second in the MAC and 13th in the FBS with 276 rushing yards (138.0 per game). He has all three of CMU’s rushing touchdowns and totaled 155 yards and two scores at Purdue.

If Syracuse Wins...: They'll be 2-0 for only the second time since 2000. Say what you want about the Villanova game but that's a solid start.

If Syracuse Loses: Concerns about the team and the program's progress will be sky-high considering it only gets harder from here.

Fun Fact: Defensive coordinator Chuck Bullough and Central Michigan head coach Dan Enos both graduated from Michigan State and played football together from 1987-90. Also, Syracuse DL coach Tim Daoust coached at Central Michigan in 2010.
