The Orange lost their second recruit to a decommitment today, as Champagnat Catholic (FL) linebacker Doyle Grimes informed the staff that he was reopening his recruitment.
Officially Decommitted from Syracuse University !

This comes as somewhat of a surprise, although Grimes always planned on taking his official visits to Marshall and West Virginia.
Grimes never visited the Syracuse campus before committing, which always meant his verbal would be shaky until we got him on the Hill. He joins Davante Davis as the second decommit of the 2015 class. Davis never visited the Syracuse campus either. Unlike Davis, Grimes will still consider Syracuse, although it's always rare to see a player end up attending a school he decommitted from.
What does this mean moving forward?
The staff will continue to recruit Grimes, and ideally will get him to recommit after getting him on campus for an official visit this fall. The staff is also still recruiting two other linebackers heavily, Anthony McKee and Jordan Fox. McKee is a rumored Michigan State lean (and it was thought he committed there on his visit a month or so ago) but likes the Orange enough to have us in his top 5. Fox is a prospect where I think the Orange have a better chance, but it will be tough to wrangle away from Stanford, Virginia, and Miami.
There's also the potential that Daiquan Kelly ends up playing LB instead of safety at the college level, and in that case we would recruit another safety like Largo's Jonathan Crawford.
If we don't land another LB, we'll be thin at the position in 2015, and will have to try and bring in three to four backers in 2016.
Disclaimer:
It's sad that I had to post this, but it's ridiculous for grown men on twitter to bash a 17 year old kid for reevaluating his options. Please don't do this. It's embarrassing and frankly if you do things like this you're a terrible person.
