Syracuse Football: Official Orange at Wake Forest Tailgating Information

Heading to the Syracuse-Wake Forest game next month? Here's everything you need.

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Sure, the Wake Forest game is several weeks away still. But if you're heading down to Winston-Salem on October 18, there's some information you'll definitely need to know in advance. Syrausefan.com tailgating guru TexanMark has the info:

The Fine Mess is joining forces with Syracuse University for the Wake Forest Tailgate. The tailgate will have BBQ, two sides and two drinks. We're hoping to add something extra... but not sure if Wake Forest University Catering will allow (so stay tuned there -- though no promises). Expect to see some SU greats on-site, along with Otto and the Cheer Team. SU schwag will be given out.

The cost is $30 each for adults (your drink tickets are transferable to others, by the way), $15 for kids 6-13, 5 and under are free (don't hold me to the ages as I haven't signed up yet). I hope the 150-plus folks who bought and saved $20 per ticket with me will join in the official tailgate. The $30 price tag might seem expensive, but SU has to rent the spot, rent canopies, chairs, etc... along with contracting with a caterer. Another plus is no cleanup and being next door to the stadium means a short walk to your seats within BB&T Field.

So go on ahead and sign up here through Syracuse.

The event will be held inside the baseball stadium which is located directly to the southeast of the stadium. There is a cash lot across the street about 1/4 mile away. Disabled parking is very close by to the baseball stadium.

Kickoff time is currently TBD (likely announced within next two weeks), but we expect the tailgate to last a minimum of 2.5 hours. It could be a little longer if we receive a 3:30pm or later kickoff.

(Ed. note: For what it's worth, I'd say 12:30 or 3:30 p.m. ET seem like pretty fair bets given what both programs look like early in the season).

I'll be working a secondary unofficial tailgate across the street for those that want to pre-tailgate and post-game tailgate. CuseJuicy will bring a grill and expect to cook up some Hoffman Coneys. Additional details TBD, however, it will have to be mainly organized by those who live in/close to North Carolina. I'm not taking lead on this so a few of you will have to step up. I don't see this as being more than a few coolers and some coneys. However, I do not want this to upstage the official tailgate.

I recommend everyone try to arrive several hours early to get the best cash lot parking spots just south of the stadium.

This Wake Forest link has a ton of additional game day info for you.

Finally, I have two tickets left to sell. Let me know if you need more (see seating chart). And I'd like everyone to be understanding if I ask you to move seats to accommodate a last minute ticket adjustment.

So there you have it. A lot of information, but all useful stuff for those who will be on-hand to see our Orange take on Wake. Obviously some folks will bring their own tailgate stuff and park elsewhere, but if you'd like to hang out with the most SU fans and legends (odds on Floyd Little: probably 90 percent-plus) and/or SU internet personalities like Mark, our own Dan Lyons or myself (who will all be there), this could be a fun option for you.

Ask questions in the comments as necessary. And look forward to seeing everyone down in Winston-Salem!
