Name: Jaston George
Position: "Field Safety" (says Cuse.com -- pretty sure that's not a thing)
Year: (Redshirt) Junor
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 176
Hometown: Chesapeake, Va.
High School: Oscar F. Smith High School
2013 Stats: Played in eight games (mostly on special teams), recording one tackle and forcing a fumble against Wagner.
2014 Projections: After spending a good deal of time on special teams in his first two years, we may see more of George in 2014. He'll be third on the free safety depth chart behind Durell Eskridge and Ritchy Desir, in all likelihood. But like you, I don't really trust Ritchy Desir much.
How'd He Get Here: He passed up on two teams that Rutgers typically plays (Norfolk State and Richmond) for a team Rutgers used to play out of necessity (us). ECU was in there, but sadly, due to NEW YORK MARKET (/sarcasm font), the Scarlet Knights won't be in the same conference as the Pirates... unless Delany exercises some sort of trade-back policy. SUCH INTRIGUE!
What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Scout said three stars and Rivals said two.
Money Quote: According to last year's "Get to Know," Jaston "just fell in love with the school." That probably sounds like the reason you chose your own school, Syracuse or otherwise. Which is cool.
Links Of Wonder: George has a pretty solid core. Share some tips, bud!
Twitterfeed: His tweets are protected over at @allNallOut24, which is a bummer. Based on the link above, seemed like a real treasure trove of entertainment.
Tweets Of Wonder: George did Yeoman's Work against SUNJ in 2012:
Jaston George just drilled Rutgers kick returner Jeremy Deering...Deering still down and being checked out by trainers.

What Does Shafer Think Of Him: Nothing I'm aware of. Though Jaston was included in a short list of potential fill-ins when Julian Whigham went down and Shafer had this to say:
"We're going to come into this room and say, 'Hey, it's too bad one of our guys is down. Who's the next guy up?' And what a great opportunity for the next guy. And Julian is of such high character — that's why I love him so much — that all he does is support the next guy in."
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: He was a high school teammate of Quinta Funderburk -- let's hope we see a breakout year from both Oscar F. Smith High School products.
Let's Get A Good Look Atcha: High school highlights are all we've got, but that should inform you a bit.
