Name: Wayne Morgan
Hometown: Brooklyn, N.Y.
High School: Erasmus Hall High School
2013 Stats: Morgan recorded 21 tackles in 12 games last season.
2014 Projections: He's likely to play a bit more than last season, but is unlikely to start. That doesn't mean he can't contribute a ton, however. Syracuse has dealt with cornerback injuries in the past and could certainly pull in an extra corner in certain sets too.
How'd He Get Here: Wayne said no thanks to a host of other schools, including UConn, Boston College, Miami, Maryland, Penn State and SUNJ. Win, us.
What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Three stars from Rivals and Scout, and four from ESPN and 247.
Money Quote: This, from a D.O. feature on him last spring. Morgan said:
"I just like running through people. I don’t like stopping my feet. You know how people break down? I don’t like breaking down. I just like to go. When I see it, I just run through it."
Links Of Wonder: Wayne once looked up to former Orange star #SHAMARKO Thomas. And he's used that as inspiration to try and replace him in the Syracuse secondary.

#Top247 ATH K.J. Williams is #Syracuse's highest rated HS commit since CB Wayne Morgan in 2012 http://t.co/jPwkOuR4eN— Chad Carson (@ChadCarson247) July 7, 2013
What Does Shafer Think Of Him: Coach Shafer talks through how Wayne's experience at quarterback serves to help him in the secondary:
"That experiential knowledge is invaluable with regards to the number of the snaps he gets. You’re starting to see those reactions come quicker with Wayne. When he sees it and believes it, he’s a good football player."
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Morgan is not the most famous alum to leave Erasmus High School for Syracuse University. That honor goes to late Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis -- who is just one name on a lengthy list of Erasmus greats.
