Get To Know Your Orange Man - #5 LB Luke Arciniega

LUUUUUUUUKE!

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Luke Arciniega

Position: Linebacker

Year: Senior

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 251

Hometown: Sparks, NV

High School: Spanish Springs

2013 Stats: Luke played in all 13 games, garnering 18 total tackles, a sack and an interception.

2014 Projections: Luke missed all of spring with a lower body injury but when he returns in the Fall, he should be well in the mix for one of the starting LB spots. He wasn't on the spring depth chart because of the injury but don't let that fool you. He's a frontrunner for playing time.

How'd He Get Here?: Arciniega initially attended the University of Nevada but left the school following a "miscommunication" over an injury. Two years ago while at a California JUCO, he was getting interest from BYU, Memphis and Miami, to name a few. But after his visit to SU, he committed and didn't waver even when Doug Marrone and his defensive coaches bolted.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: Luke got three stars from Rivals and two from Scout.

Money Quote"I just kind of felt at home [at Syracuse]. The visit had a lot to do with (my commitment)."

What Does Scott Shafer Think Of Him: "Looking forward to getting Luke Arciniega back. He's out with some lower body injuries, but he's doing a lot better."

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Since he's a JUCO transfer, Luke only gets two years eligibility here. Bummer.
