Name: Alex Hodgkinson

Position: Kicker

Year: Senior

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 190

Hometown: London,U.K.

High School: Latymer Upper School

2013 Stats: None, but he managed to make the team as a walk-on.

2014 Projections: Unlikely we see much from him unless the dreaded kicker injuries strike again.

How'd He Get Here: Hodgkinson, a member of the SU club rugby team, expressed interest in trying to walk on. After Ross Krautman's injury last season, Shafer went ahead and brought him in.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Nothing -- he wasn't a prospect coming out of high school.

Money Quote: "I'm sure (Fisher is) not anxious to get back out there either. He was probably happy to see Ryan was back in the lineup." - Scott Shafer, talking about how Alex joined the team and how it was a huge relief for punter Jonathan Fisher was happy to avoid kicking duties.

Links Of Wonder: Linked to above as well, but this is an entertaining story about how Hodgkinson joined the team, with plenty of great quotes from Shafer.

Twitterfeed: N/A

Tweets Of Wonder: Alex brought some holiday cheer to kids, along with the rest of the football team last December:

What Does Shafer Think Of Him: Scott Shafer even makes Alex's story seem run-of-the-mill:

"He's a guy that was interested and from London, really a nice kid and wanted to come out,"

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Here's Alex's rugby stat line. Someone tell me if this is good or not.

Let's Get A Good Look Atcha: Heres's some rugby highlights from Alex in 2012. He's probably gotten better since this video...
