Name: Clay Cleveland
Position: Fullback
Year: Senior
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 220
Hometown: Boxford, MA
High School: Phillips Academy
2013 Stats: Clay saw action in all 13 games last season. Despite being a FB, he garnered all of his stats through the air, catching six passes for 38 yards and two TDs. That's right, Clay was just about Syracuse's most efficient offensive weapon...in a manner of speaking.
2014 Projections: Clay returns as the undisputed starting FB and will probably see much of the same this season. We're so loaded at RB that we're probably not going to use too many snaps on Cleveland, but expect him to be a decent pass threat out of the backfield in the redzone.
How'd He Get Here?: Clay was a walk-on (he earned a scholarship last season), although he did garner interest from a couple of the Ivies, Princeton and Dartmouth, as well as D1 programs UConn and Miami (OH).
Scout/Rivals Said: Nothing. Jerks.
Money Quote: "I was excited just to play," Cleveland said. "The scholarship is just a bonus. It's awesome. I just wanted a chance."

What Does Shafer Think Of Him: "I love Clay Cleveland," coach Scott Shafer said. "The kids call him Clutch Clay in practice because he catches everything in the flats."
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: After finding himself on the outside looking in at Nate Hackett's offense, Cleveland considered transferring. He stuck it out and was rewarded with more playing time and a schollie by Coach Shafer.
Let's Get A Good Look Atcha: Watch Clay score his first TD at the :38 mark.
