Just in case you weren't clear that offensive line was a priority for the Syracuse Orange football Class of 2015, SU picked up a verbal from its fifth OL today. Just days after big hoss Evan Adams chose Orange, it was Mount Carmel High School offensive lineman Andrejas Duerig who went orange platinum.
The 6'4", 272-pound Chicago lineman also held offers from Western Michigan, Toledo, Illinois State, Florida Atlantic and Buffalo, making him a throwback to the days when we routinely beat out the MAC for our recruits. Duerig is also listed as a DT by some recruiting sites He received three stars from 24/7 and Scout and is rated the 59th-best guard in the nation by 24/7.
Andrejas, who seems to also go by the much easier to remember A.J., recently transferred to Mount Carmel after moving from Indiana. He also added this note in one recruiting website profile:
So far for the first 5 games I have received the "Pancake Maker" award for the most pancake blocks in our games 4 times
