Syracuse Football Recruiting: DL Anthony Giudice Verbals To Orange

Syracuse snags a defensive lineman from Connecticut as the 10th member of the 2015 Class.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The 10th member of the 2015 Syracuse Orange football class is in. Defensive lineman Anthony Giudice has given his verbal commitment to play for SU.

The 6-foot-3, 256-pound player from Avon Old Farms High School in Connecticut isn't rated by Rivals or Scout or any of those guys but SU clearly must see something in him. His only other offer was from FCS New Hampshire, though he had interest from Pitt, UConn and BC. Chuck Bullough handled Guidice's recruitment.

Guidice recorded 89 tackles and 10.5 sacks as a junior.

Meanwhile, Syracuse.com reported that SU recently pulled an offer from Miami WR Frank Battle after the potential WR/TE hybrid waited too long to give his verbal. The school told him that another TBD player had accepted the only available scholarship at the slot and now he's just going to have to wait and see.
