Get To Know Your Orange Man - #16 WR Keenan Hale

We're down to the teens in Get to Know Your Orange Man. Usually that means that it's almost football season, but this year it just means that we're just overachievers. Deal with it.

Name: Keenan Hale

Position: Wide Receiver

Year: Redshirt Junior

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 196

Hometown: Conyers, Ga.

High School: The McCallie School

2013 Stats: Hale missed the entire season.  In spring practice, he suffered a torn ACL injury that required surgery. He was changing directions in a one-on-one drill when his knee gave out.

2014 Projections: He's probably headed towards a year of special teams work. The wide receiver pool is rather deep this year with players like Jarrod West, Ashton Broyld and Brisly Estime taking up top spots on the depth chart.

How'd He Get Here: He was impressed by Syracuse's early interest in the recruiting process.  By September of his junior season, SU was the only team to give an offer. Rather than waiting for other offers (which later came from Samford and Vanderbilt), he committed to Syracuse.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Two stars from Scout and Rivals.

Money Quote: (On his first encounter with the Syracuse weather)

"The week I went was the first weekend they’d had snow, and they got six inches," he said. "It isn’t like the same weather here. I really enjoyed it. I slipped a few times on the ice, and I know I’ll need to make sure I have some boots when I go back."

Toto, we're not in Georgia anymore.

Links of Wonder: Hale explains how going to boarding school in Tennessee turned him into a Kenny Chesney fan who likes to hunt wild boar.

Twitterfeed: No, but he does have an Instagram.

Tweets Instagrams of Wonder: From his younger years.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: From the Post-Standard article on Hale's commitment:

A good all-around athlete, Hale won the state high jump title last spring with a leap of 6-8, and finished second in the decathlon. He said his best 40-yard dash time is 4.51 seconds.

Let's Get a Good Look Atcha: Hale with fellow Georgia natives Alex Hayes (71), Josh Parris (89) and George Morris (27).
