Back on April 25, we were excited to welcome our first commitment for the class of 2015, Gerald "Bubba" Robinson out of Florida. And now, less than two weeks later, Syracuse brings in its second commitment from Florida: Cornerback DaVante Davis.
Announced this morning by Rivals and Scout, Davis's commitment makes him the fourth member of the class of 2015, the second cornerback and the second player from Florida. Davis is from Booker T. Washington High School in the Miami area -- a spot where George McDonald (who recruited both Davis and Robinson) has been extremely successful in recent years. Along with the class of 2014, that's now eight players from the state, with plenty more to (hopefully) come.
Davis chose Syracuse over offers from Cincinnati, Florida International, Florida Atlantic and Virginia (one that just came in about an hour or so ago). Rivals gives him two stars, while Scout and 247Sports have him unrated.
If you're into following what 17- and 18-year olds are up to, you can follow DaVante at @SaluteMe_103 on Twitter (though PLEASE do not tweet at him). No video that I've been able to find, but if someone has highlights, feel free to share below and I'll add them to the post.

As mentioned, Davis is the fourth member of the class of 2015, which is currently ranked 62nd in the country on Rivals. As we all know, these numbers mean virtually nothing right now. Though still nice to see us getting recruits -- especially from Florida.
So what do you think? Excited the Sunshine State pipeline is alive and well? Happy to see George McDonald's recruiting prowess paying off? Something else entirely? Share below.
