Syracuse just got a little bit bolder. At least, that's what recruiting guru Eric White and offensive coordinator George McDonald would tell you.
Defensive end/outside linebacker Dana Levine verbally committed to Syracuse on Thursday. Levine is a 6-3, 230 pound lineman from Hallandale in Florida. He was not rated by Scout, but earned two stars from Rivals.
His other offers were from UAB and Alcorn State. Levine, who only received his offer from SU about a week ago, didn't take long to make his decision.
He became the eighth member of SU's recruiting class and the third defensive player, joining cornerbacks Gerald Robinson and Davante Davis.
By committing, he continues the trend of players going from the Sunshine State to Syracuse. Five of Syracuse's eight recruits in the Class of 2015 are from Florida, even though none of them have visited campus. (Perhaps it's part of McDonald's master plan to keep southern recruits from seeing what central New York weather is REALLY like. Slick move, George.)
