Name: Marcus Coleman
Position: Defensive Tackle
Year: (RS) Sophomore
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 286
Hometown: Vorhees, N.J.
High School: Camden Catholic High School
2013 Stats: Marcus played in five games last year, recording his first career tackle against Tulane. On the season, he had two tackles total while playing sparingly.
2014 Projections: With Jay Bromley out of the picture, Coleman has a golden opportunity to contribute this season. Ryan Sloan and Eric Crume should hold down the starting tackle spots, but Coleman will be able to work his way into the rotation throughout the year -- hopefully early, too, against some of SU's "easier" opponents.
How'd He Get Here: It was pretty much between us and Delaware at the end (weird). Duke, Purdue and SUNJ were also involved at one point. So much for that brick wall the Scarlet Knights built around New Jersey...
What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Two (subjective) stars.
Money Quote: Coleman's come on strong this spring, and as a result, the coaching staff's raving about him. Said Chuck Bullough:
"He's kind of been in the background, background, now he sees this is his chance. So now he has to rise and shine, and I've been pleased with what he's done."
Links Of Wonder: Hey, remember that time Coleman was involved in another one of SU's social media slip-ups? Yeah, let's try and forget about that...
Twitterfeed: He doesn't use it anymore, but you used to be able to find Marcus at @OrangeJuice55.
Tweets Of Wonder: Scout's John Garcia felt that Coleman was about as solid as they come in terms of the recruiting class of 2012.
Was there a #Syracuse signee more solid than DT Marcus Coleman? I say no...he already bleeds #Orange. http://t.co/W6TsjcMF

What Does Tim Daoust Think Of Him:""Marcus Coleman has been a very pleasant addition. His role has expanded. He's embraced it. He works extremely hard, and he has the respect of everyone in our room," said Daoust in early April.
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Doug Marrone was the primary reason Coleman joined the Orange -- something that feels like an oddly distant memory in these days of seeing George McDonald's name pop up for every single recruit.
Let's Get A Good Look Atcha: To Hudl!
