Get To Know Your Orange Man: Center #55 Rob Trudo

We're going to keep plugging along here with the SU Football team. Today's athlete: my buddy Rob Trudo, the newest SU center.

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Rob Trudo

Position: Center

Year: Senior

Height: 6-3

Weight: 292

Hometown: Farrell, PA

High School: Farrell

2013 Stats: Trudo started all thirteen games for the Orange at offensive guard. He did spend some time in the Spring learning center which was greeeeat because...

2014 Projections: He's been instilled by Scott Shafer at center to replace Mackey MacPherson. Trudo took reps at center with the team in practices every year since his freshman season so this isn't out of no where.

How'd he get here? Trudo drove up 79-90 much like I do. He picked Syracuse over Boston College, Pitt, West Virginia and Ohio.

What'd recruiting sites say? ESPN and Scout each gave him three stars while Rivals gave him two.

Money Quote: "I just want to go for it. I just want to run-block, honestly. I just like hitting people," said to Nate Mink two seasons ago.

Links of Wonder: Trudo is a very smart kid ready to graduate this December and begin a Master's degree. He's been on the All-Big East/ACC Academic teams the last two seasons.

Twitterfeed: You can follow him @Robtrudo.

Tweets of Wonder: I'm glad everyone appreciated C.J. Fair's time in Cuse.

What does Shafer think of him? HCSS talked about the decision to move Trudo to center.

"Rob is comfortable doing it. We made the decision as a staff to start spring ball out that way. I know Rob is excited about it, and I know Jason will be excited to compete."

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Back in high school, Trudo was a standout volleyball player for a very good Farrell team. I met with an opposing coach last winter who said he was the "Meanest dude I've ever seen play volleyball."

Let's Get a Good Look Atchya: Highlights from high school! Maybe you'll see him blowing up my high school and me subsequently losing my cool then.
