2014 NCAA WLAX Tournament: Syracuse Hosts BC, Final Four On The Line

Lacrosse ain't over yet...

Anthony Gruppuso-US PRESSWIRE

The Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team will attempt to qualify for their fifth Final Four in program history when they host the Boston College Eagles in the quarterfinals of the 2014 NCAA WLAX Tournament on Saturday.

Opening draw in the Carrier Dome is set for 1 p.m., the game will be televised on CuseTV and broadcast on 89,1FM.

History is on Syracuse's side. They're 11-0 all-time against BC, including an 11-9 victory earlier this season.

The Eagles will come into the game with a 15-5 record and a recent win over Bryant (at least somebody took them down a peg) and Loyola (who gave SU trouble right before the tourney). Covie Stanwick leads the Eagles with 88 points on 50 goals and 38 assists while Mikaela Rix has 74 points on 57 goals and 17 assists.

The Orange enter the game at 19-2, having handled Stony Brook with relative ease in their first game of the NCAAs. SU is 4-2 all-time in the quarterfinals round.

The winner will play the winner of North Carolina vs. Virginia in the Final Four next weekend.

Check out some game previews by coach Gary Gait as well as some of the players and be back here on Saturday for the GameThread. A Syracuse squad could he headed to the Final Four and we need to make sure we're rooting for them from hundreds of miles away because that could be the karmic difference between winning and losing.
