Syracuse Orange football is in desperate need of kicking help. As of this moment, Riley Dixon is the only punter on the roster while senior Ross Krautman, senior Alex Hodgkinson and junior Ryan Norton are the place-kickers. The time to recruit some new kicking blood is right now.
We saw a couple weeks ago that SU was pushing hard to get kicker Sterling "Showtime" Hofrichter to commit for 2015. In the meantime, however, kicker/punter Evan Jakubowski accepted a schollie accepted a spot as a preferred walk-on Wednesday.
Incredibly blessed to say I am now officially committed to play football at Syracuse University! #GoOrange

Even better news is that Jakubowski is a 2014 recruit, which means he can start practicing with the squad in August. Riley Dixon is our lord and savior, but it'll be nice to know there's an actual back-up on the roster just in case...
Watch some highlights of the Illinois-based punter/kicker here. And if we ever do start fielding a D-I baseball team, he'll be ready to go.
