2014 ACC Lacrosse Championships Open Thread

Both the men's and women's squads are looking for the conference crown in their inaugural seasons.

In their first seasons in the league, both the Syracuse Orange men's and women's lacrosse squads will have the chance to win the ACC crown when they play in their respective championship games today.

First, the women's championship, which might just be a preview of the actual National Championship game as well. Depending on which poll you're looking at, either the Maryland Terrapins (18-1) or the Syracuse Orange (17-1) are the No. 1 team in the nation. They'll figure it out for sure at 1:00 p.m. ET at Alumni Stadium in Boston. The winner will almost certainly be the top seed in the NCAA Tournament while the loser will still have a pretty strong case for the No. 2.

The game will be broadcast on RSN, including the YES Network, and ESPN3. You can also listen live on 89.1 FM in Syracuse.

Meanwhile, the men's squad (10-3) is looking to put a bow on their late season surge when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-5) in the men's title game. Opening face-off is also set for 1:00 p.m. ET at PPL Park in Chester, PA. The Orange are coming off a thrilling upset of the Duke Blue Devils and could make a serious case for a top three seed in the NCAA Tournament with a win here. Not to be outdone, the Irish beat Maryland on a winning score with seven seconds leftto get here.

The game will be televised on ESPNU, available on ESPN3.com and on the radio at 99.5 FM locally.
