Syracuse Lacrosse: Men Hold Steady At No. 4 Before ACC Tournament

One trophy down, two to go.

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team won one trophy this past week. Now they'll try to win another one.

Thanks to their win over Hobart, the Orange held steady in both the media and coaches polls at No. 4.

Ahead of them in both polls are No. 1 Loyola, No. 2 Duke and No. 3 Denver. Other ACC schools in the rankings include Maryland (5/7), North Carolina (6/6), Notre Dame (9/9) and Virginia (8/10).

SU is No. 3 in Quint's Top 20 rankings and No. 4 on Glaude's ballot over at College Crosse.

Despite being the two highest-ranked squads, the Orange and Blue Devils will meet this Friday in the "first round" of the ACC Lacrosse Tournament. SU is looking to avenge a 21-7 embarrassment earlier in the season, arguably their worst loss in decades. The Blue Devils have looked every bit the best team in the nation since then so it will be no small task.

The winner of that game will play the winner of Notre Dame - Maryland in the ACC Championship Game on Sunday. Meanwhile, Virginia and UNC will play in a "showcase" game on Saturday which exists only to pump up both team's SOS.
