C.J. Fair continued taking home honors following his final season at Syracuse today, as the senior was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press. It's the latest in a string of awards for Fair, who was also named to All-America teams compiled by USA Today, United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Fair is also the first Syracuse player to make the AP All-America team since Wes Johnson did it in 2010 (when he made the first-team).
On the third-team, Fair is joined by Wichita State's Cleanthony Early, UCLA's Kyle Anderson, Kentucky's Julius Randle and Florida's Scottie Wilbekin. He is one of just three ACC players named to the All-America team, with Duke's Jabari Park (first-team) and NC State's T.J. Warren (second-team) being the others.
Though Tyler Ennis has picked up plenty of rave reviews for his first and only season in an Orange uniform, he has not received the same level of accolades as Fair. That's not a bad thing, or a knock on Ennis. Just something interesting, considering the hype the freshman point guard received for his play for the large majority of the season.
All three AP All-America teams are listed below. What do you think? Mostly on-the-money? Or do they leave something to be desired? Weigh in below in the comments.
