The 2014 Syracuse Orange football season will get underway a day earlier than expected. Via a release by Villanova University, the game will kickoff on Friday, August 29, instead of the previously-scheduled Saturday, August 30.
Gametime was not included in the announcement, though, I feel like it's a pretty fair guess to assume it will be in the 7 p.m. ET range, right?
Syracuse's website still lists the game as Saturday, so, either they'll change it or we're about to enter the strangest game of football schedule chicken we've ever witnessed.
This will now be the second Friday game on Syracuse's 2014 slate. They're also scheduled to play the Louisville Cardinals on Friday, October 3. Guess it's a recently-Big East thing.
This will be the first meeting for the two schools since 1975. SU leads the all-time series, 2-1.
