And the results are in.

Brittney Sykes was selected for the All-ACC Coaches' Second Team, the league announced on Monday.  Voting for the poll is done by ACC coaches.  Of the 15 players who made the top two teams, Sykes is one of only five underclassmen and the only Syracuse player to be honored.

Syked led the Orange in scoring this season with 16.7 points per game and was a vital part of Syracuse's fast break offense.  She has scored 519 points, the fifth highest total in SU single-season history.  She is 23 points away from tying Chandrea Jones for fourth place.

After averaging 8.9 points per game as a freshman, she's nearly doubled that total this season.  She has started every game for Syracuse and scored in double-digits in the majority of them.  Her best performance came against Virginia Tech, when she scored a career-high 31 points.

Last week, Sykes also received second team honors for the All-ACC Second Team, which is chosen by a panel of national and local media members as well as school representatives.

The Orange is 22-9 this season and reached the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.  Syracuse is projected to be a seven-seed in the NCAA Tournament. The brackets are announced on Selection Monday  March 17 at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
