No. 6 Syracuse Orange (2-1) vs. No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers (5-0) GameThread

Can the Lax Orange avenge the Roundball Orange?

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange will now take on the Virginia Cavaliers.

Again.

This time it's the men's lacrosse squads who are lining up in Charlottesville as the No. 6 Orange look for their first ACC win against the No. 5 Cavs. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

Here's what College Crosse has to say on the matter...

The Orange and Cavaliers will meet for 30th time in their decorated histories, once again tangling as top 10 teams. The series is virtually deadlocked at 15-14 in favor of Virginia, but the Cavaliers have owned the rivalry in recent seasons, taking eight of the last 11 regular season meetings between the two teams. Both programs are thirsty for a win tonight at Klockner, although the Orange probably need a victory more than Virginia at this point. I'm not sold that this is going to be a blur of action, but there is strong potential that this game could feature explosive lightning from both teams at the offensive end.

And here's something from the TNIAAM preview courtesy of Jim Simmons...

Syracuse's long-poles will have their hands full on Saturday with Virginia's high powered attack. At the faceoff X, a spot that has garnered a lot of negative attention for SU in recent months, this game has the potential to be a major confidence builder for Chris Daddio. UVA is not a fantastic f/o team, and can be dominated in the circle, just as they were in their 6 f/o win performance against Drexel. As much as faceoffs have been the Achilles' heel for SU, the situation might be worse for UVA.

Jim will be covering the game for TNIAAM so give him a follow on Twitter. Otherwise, see you below with your pre-, in- and post-game comments. G'ORANGE!
