National Signing Day, Syracuse Recruiting: Juwan Dowels Does the Wave

Yet another Florida prospect, Juwan Dowels ditches the sun of his hometown for the snowiest college in America.

Dowels's Twitter Feed

After watching the Syracuse basketball team squeak by Pittsburgh back in January, Florida defensive back Juwan Dowels was sold on the Orange, providing a verbal commitment shortly following his trip.

Stat Me: Juwan is 5'10" and 160 pounds, which may sound small, but he's relied on his quickness instead, plus some nice leaping ability (30.6" vertical, per ESPN). This past year, he had nine interceptions.

Seein' Stars: Scout - NR, Rivals - 3*, 247 - 3*, ESPN - 3*

Who's Crying?: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Clemson, Rutgers SUNJ, Utah, Cincinnati, plus some others.

Money Quote: Looks like Dowels has aspirations to emulate NFL legend Deion Sanders. Please do, man:

Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: George McDonald should change his name to George McFlorida.

Fun Fact: Dowels's high school, American Heritage, churns out a fair amount of current baseball talent. Eric Hosmer (Royals), Deven Marrero (Red Sox), Antoan Richardson (Yankees) and Adrian Nieto (White Sox) all played there. He also seems to enjoy the wave (nooooo!).
