Yet another recruit from sunny South Florida comes to Syracuse! This time, it's Hialeah High School QB Alin Edouard, who's been verbally committed to the Orange since October.
Stat Me: Edouard is 6'2" and 181 pounds, with plenty of speed for a dual-threat (he runs a 4.57 40-yard dash). Rivals rated him among the top 100 prospects in the state of Florida, which is actually a pretty big deal.
Seein' Stars: Scout - 3*, Rivals - 3*, 247 - 3*, ESPN - 4*
Who's Crying?: Arizona, Boston College, Louisville, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest. He'd also verbally committed to Miami way back, before backing out.
Money Quote: "I'll be the face of that program (Syracuse) soon," Edouard told Nate Mink at Syracuse.com. We're looking forward to it, Alin!
Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: South Florida recruit? Must be George McDonald! As he tells Nate Mink in the piece above, Edouard sees McDonald as another father figure to him, which probably explains why a lot of recruits gravitate toward our offensive coordinator.
Fun Fact: Edouard is good friends with fellow Miami-area resident and SU recruit Steve Ishmael. Edouard's early commitment actually helped bring Ishmael, the three-star wideout, into the fold for the Orange. Thanks, Alin!
