Syracuse Orange (8-4) vs Cornell Big Red (6-6) GameThread

Goodbye, 2014. You were meh.

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange (8-4) complete their non-conference schedule when they host the Cornell Big Red (6-6) at the Carrier Dome tonight at 6:00 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU/ESPN3.

The matchup will be the 120th between the Orange and the Big Red, making it the second most frequent pairing in Syracuse hoops history. Syracuse owns an 88-31 advantage in the all-time series that began in 1900-01. The Orange have won the last 34 encounters with the Big Red, including an 82-60 decision in last year’s season opener.

Cornell has already tripled its win total of last season when it struggled to finish 2-26. They did, however, lose their most recent outing, a 59-52 overtime loss to Saint Peter’s.

Senior forward Shonn Miller is averaging a club-best 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds. Sophomore guard Robert Hatter is second in scoring (12.9 PPG) and senior guard Galal Cancer averages 10.0 PPG. Senior guard Devin Cherry (9.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG) and sophomore forward David Onuorah (2.7 PPG, 4.5 RPG) round out a five-man unit that has started all 12 games for Cornell.

The TNIAAM crew is unanimous in their beliefs the Orange will come out victorious. Let's do that, then...
