Sean Hickey hopes to follow in the footsteps and side-shuffles of Justin Pugh and hear his name called during the 2014 NFL Draft. The graduating Syracuse Orange offensive lineman will showcase his talents as part of the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 17 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL as another step in that process.
The NFL Network will televise the game, which kicks at 4:00 p.m.
Hickey ended his Syracuse career as the most stable member of the offensive line, starting 38 consecutive games in spite of injuries, all the while making a solid case for himself in the eyes of NFL scouts. Hickey was named to the All-ACC Third Team last week for his on-field work.
Last year, Jay Bromley participated in the Shrine Game before being selected by the New York Giants. Unfortunately for Hickey, the Tom Coughlin-lef Syracuse pipeline to the Giants probably won't be there by the time the draft begins.
