Syracuse Orange (3-1) vs. Loyola Greyhounds (2-2) GameThread

The unranked Orange (weird) host Loyola in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

For the first time in 97 weeks (in-season), the Syracuse Orange basketball team is not ranked in the AP Poll. The chance to start a new streak begins tonight when the Orange host the Loyola Greyhounds in the Carrier Dome. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

The game will be televised on RSN and ESPN3.

Loyola has losses at Texas Tech (71-59) and at Butler (80-39) sandwiched around home victories against Cornell (76-71) and Maryland- Baltimore County (45-38). The Greyhounds have had trouble offensively, managing to shoot just .327 from the field to date. Junior guard Eric Laster has led the squad in scoring (14.8 PPG) while freshman guard Andre Walker is second (11.0) off the bench. Junior forward Jarred Jones is the team’s top rebounder (7.5), just ahead of freshman forward Cam Gregory (7.3). Jones has missed the last two games with an injury and Gregory has taken his spot in the starting lineup.
