The Boston College Eagles nearly upset the then-No. 1 team in the nation this weekend.
The Syracuse Orange lost by 23 to a 5-6 football team in a game that wasn't even as close as that.
So no surprise here that the Eagles begin the week as 10-point favorites at home for next weekend's regular season-ending showdown.
The Syracuse offense seemed incapable of advancing the ball, let alone scoring, against the Pittsburgh Panthers this past weekend. SU's lone touchdown came courtesy of a defensive lineman masquerading as a running back. And as bad as the first three quarters were, the fourth seemed to be even worse. Injuries and a season of disappointment have shredded the team's offense and ability to put points on the board. It's hard to believe they'll be able to muster a victory here.
Boston College, meanwhile, is in about as good a shape as a 6-5 team can be. They went toe-to-toe with Florida Stateand were a missed field goal away from potentially winning. They're bowl eligible and looking for a little payback from last year's loss in the Dome. They're also hoping to do well but not too well that Steve Addazio ends up leaving for greener pastures.
Lots of #OrangeEagle points on the line this Saturday, November 29. The game will kick at 12:30 p.m. and be televised on RSN/ESPN3.
